WORK. EARN MONEY. SPEND IT. REPEAT.
These are the rhythms of modern life, but is it a good life? What are we working for? The pleasure of work or the money that buys us our creature comforts?
For Singapore Calendar: Labour Day, Liana Yang & Robin Chua (KiDG) investigated the ideas of labour, leisure and the “Good Life”. This programme began with a series of three self-led quests and ended with a final exhibition.
Singapore Calendar: Labour Day is part of Singapore Calendar – a seasonal programme. We’ve examined spaces and neighbourhoods. Now, we study time – our local calendar. Because time tells us stories beyond public holidays.

Quests and Zines
Audiences were brought on three self-led quests to be completed in the lead up to their final show.
An online challenge had to be completed to get clues to a secret location. At each location, audiences collected zines designed by the artists, which reflected on our modern work lives.

Final Show
Over the month of May, Liana and Robin converted an old shop unit into a space for their final show.
The four new artworks by the artists delved deeper into the ideas explored across the three quests.
