“I collect art for its artists and stories.”
— Nicholas
Last Saturday, 28 March 2026, we resumed House of Collectors with Nicholas, whose home has become a living archive of artworks and artists.
In his 10 years of collecting, Nicholas has carefully built a vast collection. Yet, what struck us most was how deeply familiar he is not just with the story of each work, but with the artists behind them as well. As he spoke about their practices, processes, and intentions with genuine fondness, it was clear he admires the artists as much as the works themselves.
Nicholas’s collection also reflects his strong commitment to supporting emerging local artists. He has acquired works by graduating students and young artists, not only out of appreciation for their creativity, but also because he understands how meaningful such support can be for artists navigating the early stages of their practice.
We couldn’t have thought of a better person to host our first House of Collectors of the year. More than just viewing art, this Friends of OH! exclusive programme invites direct, intimate encounters between artists, collectors, patrons, volunteers, audiences, and the art itself.
Thank you, Nicholas, for sharing the love and care behind the works in your home. In times where collections often focus solely on the artworks, you remind us that art is as much about the people and the stories they carry — a belief that resonates deeply with us at OH!.
