The staircase landings between adjacent flats of Waterloo Centre are publicly accessible spaces, yet they reflect the identities of its residents through shoe racks, potted plants, and decorations. The artist worked with Waterloo residents to design and create carpets for these landings. Passersby and neighbours have to negotiate how the “intrusion” of the domestic carpet changed the dynamics of this shared space.
